The Department of Hotel Management organized an industry interaction session in collaboration with IHG Academy, on 19th July 2022 from 1:30 pm to 2:30 pm for final year BSc. HM CA and BSc. HM CS students. The resource person for the event was Mr. Paul Jose, Training Manager of Holiday Inn, Kochi. The session aimed at providing a platform for the final year students to have an industry expert session that would help the students get an insight about the Hotel Industry much before they start their training during their final semester.
The resource person explained about the IHG group and the various hotels under the brand, also the vast job opportunities under the IHG group globally. There was a very informative talk about the latest trends in the hotel industry. He emphasized on the importance of ODC, Industrial Exposure Training etc which would be useful for their profile.
There was an effective and fruitful question and answer session where the students asked their doubts and queries as to what they are about to face during their training period and post placements. Students actively participated in this session. There is a vast difference between books and practicals and the department is trying to have real-time testimonials and talks by highly successful managers of the hotel industry which would help the students to understand the industry better.
