Mental Health Week 2025 at NIMIT
Pratidhi, the Centre for Counselling in association with the PG Department of Social Work, is observing Mental Health Week from October 4th to 10th, 2025 at the Pongam campus.
This week-long initiative aims to spread awareness, break stigma, and promote the importance of mental well-being among students and faculty.
Through inspiring activities, creative engagement, and expert guidance, NIMIT reaffirms its commitment to fostering a compassionate and mentally healthy community.

“Breaking Stigma on Mental Health” — Digital Content Competition
Student-Led Digital Content Competition
As part of Mental Health Week Pratidhi Centre for Counselling in association with PG Dept of social Work invite students to participate in a Digital Content Competition on the theme “Breaking Stigma on Mental Health.”
This event offers a platform for students to creatively express their thoughts through reels that advocate acceptance, empathy, and understanding.
The initiative encourages open conversations and challenges misconceptions surrounding mental health.

“Mindful Moments” — Wellness Session{8th October 2025}
Take a pause and breathe.
Join “Mindful Moments,” a special wellness activity for teaching and non-teaching faculty, focusing on simple yet powerful breathing exercises led by Fr. Baiju Varghese.
This session aims to nurture inner calm and emotional balance amidst daily stress.
Through mindfulness and gentle self-awareness, participants will learn to reconnect with the present moment — the foundation of mental well-being.

Building Emotional Readiness — Psychological First Aid Session{10th October 2025}
As part of Mental Health Week 2025, Pratidhi Centre for Counselling in association with PG Dept of social Work presents an Expert Session on Psychological First Aid by Ms. Mariya Treasa, Rehabilitation Psychologist and Co Founder of PsyLight Clinic.
This interactive session offers practical insights into identifying distress, providing immediate emotional support, and connecting individuals to professional help.
Participants will gain essential skills to respond with empathy and confidence when someone faces a mental health challenge.
The session reinforces the belief that everyone can play a part in promoting mental well-being and offering timely support.
