The Department of English at Naipunnya College, Pongam Koratty conducted an awareness campaign with CDS members of the Kudumbasree unit at Koratty panchayat as part of the department’s extension activity 2022. Ms. Grace K Benny, Head of the Department of English met with Kudumbasree members at Korratty panchayat to ascertain the basic and immediate needs of their unit that could be assisted by the department in upcoming sessions. The discussion took place on Monday 25th July 2022 by 12:30 pm at the Kudumbasree office, Koratty.

The Department of English has offered seven different initiatives that have been put forward to the members of CDS Kudumbasree that could be included in the departmental extension activity. These include IELTS coaching classes for free (excluding examination fee) on scheduled dates, English communication classes for Kudumbasree unit women members, lending books to the Koratty panchayat library, tuition classes offered to school students, educational kits to be distributed to deserving school children of the panchayat, free classes to students who have registered for the UG and PG English programs through distance at the University of Calicut, and literary competitions will be organized for the school students of the Koratty panchayat.
