This workshop introduced students to Participatory Rural Appraisal techniques used in community-based research and intervention. The session was led by Dr. Shiju Ealias, Principal, Alphonsa College, Thiruvambady, Kozhikode, who enhanced students’ practical understanding of participatory methods, data collection, and community engagement, equipping them with essential skills for rural development practice.
Project Proposal Writing – 27-11-2025
Organized for MSW students, this workshop focused on developing skills in drafting effective project proposals. The resource person, Ms. Aasika Joseph, Learning and Development Coordinator, Association of People with Disability (APD), Bangalore, provided guidance on structure, problem identification, objective formulation, and budgeting, enabling students to design professional and fundable project proposals.
Research Methodology – 14-07-2025
This workshop focused on equipping students with fundamental knowledge and practical skills in research methodology. The session was handled by Mr. Jolly John O V, Research Scholar, who provided comprehensive insights into research design, data collection methods, and basic analytical approaches. The programme highlighted the relevance of systematic research in social work practice and emphasized the importance of evidence-based interventions. It enhanced students’ ability to undertake academic research, critically analyze social issues, and apply scientific methods in professional practice.
