  • MSc Computer Science with Data Science

The P G Department of Computer Science was established in the year 2002 with the launch of the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science (BSc Computer Science) programme. Since its inception, the department has been committed to providing quality education in the field of Computer Science and Information Technology, nurturing students with strong academic foundations, technical expertise, and professional values.

With the growing demand for advanced studies in computing, the department introduced the Master of Science in Computer Science (MSc Computer Science) programme in 2011, offering students opportunities for higher learning and research-oriented studies. In 2012, the department expanded its academic offerings by starting the Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) programme to cater to the increasing interest in application-oriented computer education. Recognizing the rising demand for the programme, an additional batch of BCA was introduced in 2022. Further strengthening its academic portfolio, the department launched the BSc Information Technology programme in 2023.

The department is supported by a team of experienced and dedicated faculty members who continuously strive to impart industry-relevant knowledge through innovative teaching methodologies, practical sessions, seminars, workshops, and project-based learning. The faculty members actively encourage students to participate in academic and co-curricular activities that enhance their technical and interpersonal skills.

Over the years, the department has built a strong reputation for producing competent and skilled graduates. Students of the department have secured placements in reputed multinational IT companies such as TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Cognizant, and Deloitte. The department continues to focus on academic excellence, industry collaboration, skill development, and holistic growth of students, preparing them to meet the challenges of the rapidly evolving technological world.
