NAIPUNNYA – I CAN’T THANK YOU ENOUGH!
It is hard for me to put all my feelings and gratitude into words. Naipunnya life has been a mind, soul and enhancing experience for me. It gave me lot of opportunities both in curricular and extracurricular platforms and things have been different in the best way possible since the first day in the college. From security Uncle to Principal, am thankful to each and everyone in Naipunnya for whoever am and for whatever I Have.
Honestly, during the Initial days of college I was a bit lazy and aimless kid. And the good transformation happened all because of my dear Faculties who always cheered and guided me. They all helped me to have a reflection on my ideal self and motivated me to build a sense of who I want to be and what I want to accomplish. I owe all my success to my dear teachers, especially Fr. Saji Peter,Teresa Ma’am , Jeena Ma’am ,Kavitha Ma’am ,Merin Ma’am ,Bini Ma’am & Tessy ma’am who believed in me and guided me with all sorts of problems, whether it be study-related or life-related.
Another best thing which happened to me in Naipunnya was my department, Department of commerce. It is one of the best departments in our college and I was fortunate enough to be a part of it. Our HOD and teachers are always close to my heart and they are the people I always look up to.Im a proud alumni of commerce department and I always will be.
I am also indebted to my most significant supports, my parents and my friends to always be there for me, for my good times and bad times. With all their support I’m always able to keep myself motivated and Positive.
The happiness of university rank is the result of all the support and exposure Naipunnya gave me. If somebody wants to develop themselves, whether its academically or personally, from my experience I can assure that Naipunnya is the best choice. I became a best version of myself through my 3 years of Naipunnya life. It gave me everything I want…Studies, exposure, fun, friends, arts, support, love…and what not !!! Naipunnya always serves a Molotov cocktail of emotions, a bond of family. I can’t thank you enough!!!!
JOE BIDEN
Joseph Robinette Biden Jr. is an American politician and the president-elect of the United States. Having defeated incumbent Donald Trump in the 2020 United States presidential election, he will be inaugurated as the 46th president on January 20, 2021. A member of the Democratic Party, Biden served as the 47th vice president from 2009 to 2017 a senator of Delaware from 1973 to 2009.Mr. Biden, who has served in public life for around a half-century, is emphasizing his government experience, seeking to cast himself as a steady, seasoned hand in a dangerous and uncertain world. As the coronavirus crisis has unfolded, he has looked for ways to help voters picture him as commander in chief, formulating recommendations rooted in advice from health care and economics experts. Those suggestions include making coronavirus tests broadly accessible, and free. He has said there should be no out-of-pocket cost for patients to receive an eventual vaccine, either. And he has been sharply critical of President Trump’s response to the virus, accusing him of reacting too slowly.
Mr. Biden served as vice president in the Obama administration during the passage of the Affordable Care Act, and health care remains a top priority for him. It’s an issue he often discusses in the context of his family’s personal tragedies: He lost his first wife and an infant daughter in a car accident in 1972, and in 2015, his son Beau Biden died of brain cancer. Health care, he said early television ad, is “personal” to him. He supports adding a public option to the Affordable Care Act, but opposes “Medicare for all,” the sweeping single-payer measure advocated by some progressives in his party, including Senator Bernie Sanders. Although Biden’s election represents an imminent end to a presidency that often disregarded truth, science and evidence, many scientists fear that the movement launched by Trump will continue to haunt the United States well after he has left office.
“The political defeat of Trump is enormously important. But this is not a repudiation of this larger assault on democratic civility in the United States,” says Zia Mian, a physicist and co-director of the Program in Science and Global Security at Princeton University in New Jersey. Trump has undermined core values of truth and equality, Mian says, and without those, “democratic debate is not possible”

Study on the Students’ perspective on the effectiveness of online teaching and learning in colleges
Introduction
The World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID-19 as a global public health emergency of international concern on 30th January 2020 as well as a pandemic on 11th March 2020. Certainly, like many other aspects of everyday life, COVID-19 has a serious impact on students, instructors, and educational organizations around the globe. This research intends to examine the perception of under graduate students towards compulsory digital and distance learning university courses amid Corona virus (COVID-19).
Research Problem:
The pandemic caused schools, colleges and universities across the globe to shut down their campuses so that students could follow social distancing measures. That being said, moving smoothly from an environment of conventional education to distance and virtual learning could not happen overnight. This rapid transformation is linked to various obstacles and challenges. But because nobody knows when this pandemic will disappear fully, educational institutions across the globe has decided to use the already available technical resources to create online learning for students of all academic fields. Under this situation, the researcher has decided to study the Under Graduate Students’ perspective on the effectiveness of online teaching and learning in colleges.
Objectives of the study
- The factors and their impact effectiveness of online classes during the Covid-19.
- To highlight the challenges and obstacles of online learning faced by undergraduate students.
Scope of the Study
The scope of the study is limited to the undergraduate students of Thrissur District.
Research Design
Exploratory in nature
Sample size: 135 Undergraduates responded to this study to find their perspectives about online education.
Data and Method of collection : Primary data were collected using online questionnaire.
Tools used for analysis: Correlation and percentages
Tools used for presentation : Diagrams and Graphs
Hypotheses
H11 – Effectiveness in the time spent has significant positive relationship on the effectiveness on the online learning.
H12 – Class room Interaction is significantly related to the effectiveness on the online learning.
H13 – Instructional design and delivery has significant positive impact on the effectiveness on the online learning.
Hypothesised Research Model
Review of Literature
A few recent research studies have explored the challenges and opportunities associated with e-learning during pandemics (Mailizar et al., 2020). Researchers are trying to explore the advantages and challenges of recent e-learning initiatives from the perspective of various stakeholders. The study conducted by Mailizar et al., (2020), suggested that students’ voices are important on this issue, therefore, future research should investigate students’ opinions regarding online learning to examine the challenges faced by students. More research is needed to explore the challenges of utilizing e-learning that hinders students from achieving their learning goals. Basilaia and Kvavadze (2020) also suggested that the quality of learning online should be investigated in future research studies.
Data Analysis – Tested model – Correlation
Since all the correlational values are greater than zero, we can conclude that all the three hypotheses, H11, H12, and H13 are accepted.
Findings
The analysis reveals that 37.78 % of the undergraduate students are able to cope up with online classes and 39.26 % stands neutral.
38.52 % opines that online class provides new opportunity for knowledge improvement and 31.85 % stands neutral.
72.59 % of the students are of the opinion that, online classes are not effective as physical class room education.
The major technical issue faced by the students during online classes is network access problem and it stands at 86.7%.
The study also states that all the three independent variables, i.e., effectiveness in time spent, classroom interaction and instructional design and delivery have significant impact on the effectiveness of online education.
Suggestions
Solution to the network access problem is not in our hands. The service providers should provide a better bandwidth and the researchers are of the suggestion that the government can play a crucial role in improving the infrastructure.
Since, effectiveness in time spent, classroom interaction and instructional design and delivery, have significant impact on the effectiveness of online education, the faculty members should never compromise on them.
Limitations and scope for further research
Small sample size, inadequate time and a convenient online selection of the respondents were some of the major limitations of this research study. The non-random selection limits the ability to generalise the results.
Future researches should either increase the sample size or use random selection techniques.
As the results are only based on students’ perspectives, the inclusion of faculty opinions in future studies might help in understating the issues faced by instructors regarding online classes.
Conclusion
The findings of the study highlighted that online learning cannot produce desired results, where a vast majority of students are unable to access the internet due to technical as well as monetary issues. The lack of face-to-face interaction with the instructor, response time and absence of traditional classroom socialization were among some other issues highlighted by the undergraduate students. As students we also hope that the classes will be back to the normal from the new normal.
