Onam being the official state festival of Kerala is celebrated with much vigour and energy. Regardless of the differences in caste, creed and religion, NIMITians observe the day with much joy and enthusiasm imbibing the spirit of unity and equality reflected during the reign of the popular legend King Mahabali. Pookkalam, sadhya, different kinds of competitions etc. are being organised on the day which make it the most celebrated event in the campus. Management, staff and students actively involve in the celebration temporarily dismantling the hierarchical structure. Sumptuous lunch and chendamelam being the highlights of the event, immerse the whole community into a mood of festivity and rejuvenation.
