Centre for Examinations

The Centre of Examinations plays an important role in the conduct of the internal and external examinations as per the notification and ordinance of the University. The Centre seeks to guarantee that the evaluation procedure is transparent, effective, reliable, and student-focused throughout.

The Examination Committee is an apex body of the Institute which is headed by the Principal, (the Chief Superintendent of Examinations) supported by the Director – Centre of Examination along with three additional members. The Committee has displayed its steadfastness and competency by organizing several Examinations as notified by the University.

In accordance with university regulations, the Continuous Internal Evaluation for UG and PG Programmes consists of two internal exams administered each semester. Using Bloom’s Taxonomy, the Centre of Examinations creates the question papers for the internal exams using the question bank that the departments have prepared for the various courses under each programme.

As announced by the university, the external exams are carried out under the barcoded system. The Centre of Examinations arranged a thorough training to acquaint all faculty members with the new barcoded system. The university sends out question papers electronically, which are then received by the examination centre, printed, and packaged for transportation to the venue of examination. In addition, the students are notified in advance of the Time Table for the aforementioned exams. Along with invigilation responsibilities, the centre is also in charge of organising seating for exam blocks. The Centre also handles the answering script collection, sorting, and packaging.

The Centre comprises of an examination support team of office assistants, computer programmers and department representative. The Centre maintains a constant state of alertness, conducts frequent assessments of its operations, and routinely adjusts its standards to conform to UGC recommendations.
In order to address issues related to internal and external exams that students report, an Examination Grievance Cell is established. The goal of this initiative is to empower students to voice their complaints without fear of retaliation.
